DARKER THAN BLOOD

CHAPTER 2: INTOXICATED

“Lust, Greed,  Anger, Arrogance, Delusion, and Jealousy. A person with any of these vices not only causes his destruction but also harms the people around him.”

On dealing his soul with the devil Flint’s life changed all of a sudden. His punishment was over, he was now popular among people and was having mountains of money. But all these things failed to satisfy him. The only thing that he wanted was his revenge on Amber. For the work to be done he hired a lady killer and asked her to intoxicate and kill Amber.

The lady killer took the name Gem and went for an interview in the same company and joined as an idler. Even though she joined, she didn’t do the actual task assigned, just in case to stay out of suspicion. After a good time working there, it was time for Gem to execute her mission and terminate Amber.

On a great evening when it was a coffee break for the employees, Gem took the chance and intoxicated Amber’s coffee.




Gem: Good Evening ma’am, here’s the coffee you asked for.

Amber: How sweet of you Gem, thanks a lot.

Gem: (in mind) now drink it fast; I can’t wait to get my money. I wonder how powerful that poison is!

(Amber on a chat with her friend kept the cup aside)

Gem: (in mind again) what the hell you think you’re doing, you stupid! Just drink the coffee and relieve my eyes that are eager to see you come out of your body.

At that instance, it happened; Amber took the cup and swallowed the intoxicating coffee. As soon as she did it the sky turned dark and the volcanoes started erupting with all of their strength and the ground shook giving the message of something that was never meant to happen.

Amber’s eyes turned blood red her nails grew longer and her bright face turned pale, the whole scenario was indicating the rise of the Dark Age. Amber lifting her hand threw Gem out of the building. On killing Gem she destroyed the whole office building with the movement of her hands and flew to an unknown place.

Meanwhile on the mountain:

Mystery man: They were right. When the darkness will eat the skies and the bloody rivers will destroy nature look at the sky and his shadow will fly over the sky soaring high so dull and shy.

(Turns his head up and sees a silhouette passing by a great speed in the sky)

Mystery man: so that’s where the riddle points.




Why did the surroundings change all of a sudden?

Why didn’t Amber die from being intoxicated?

Who is the mystery man?

Is he related to Amber?

What does that puzzle mean?
